Size guide

Curtain size guide

How to choose the right curtain size?

Madura standard curtain sizes. Easy as pie.

We design 4 curtain sizes: 1 standard height in 3 widths, and 1 large height in standard width.

The norm for ceiling height varies between 2.50 meters (recent housing) and 2.80 meters for older housing, with a few exceptions (noble floor of Haussmann buildings or loft). It's impossible not to find the right curtain size: as the height of our curtains is adjustable, you're likely to find the right width for your window in our standard height collection (280cm).

How to take your measurements

For best results, the rod should be installed between 10 cm and 15 cm above the window and extend 20 cm beyond the brackets on either side.Don't want to know how to measure? How do you want it to look?

While the choice of curtain size (width and height) depends on the size and positioning of the rod, it's also important to consider the desired effect.

The fall

To adjust the height of your curtains: use the thermo-adhesive strip supplied with each curtain panel and consult our guide to hemming, or use our at-home touch-up service.

Clean rendering

For a clean finish, look for a flush finish 1 cm above the ground.

Brittle rendering

For a brittle finish, allow an extra 3 to 5 cm.

Gathering

The greater the width of the curtain, the more pleated it will be if you're using a pleated head, or wavy if you're using an eyelet head.

Curtains

Light gathering

For a lightly gathered effect, choose a curtain width equivalent to 1.5 times the width of your rod.

Pronounced gathering

For a pronounced gathered effect, opt for a curtain width equivalent to 2 times the width of your rod.

Sheer curtains

Light gathering

For a lightly gathered effect, choose a sheer width equivalent to 1.5 times the width of your rod.

Pronounced gathering

For a pronounced gathered effect, opt for a sheer curtain width equivalent to 2.5 times the width of your rod.
